Service problems other than mechanical:

Always use copier toner/ink from your “local” copier dealer, or copier service supplier. There is what we call “Toner Pirates” out there trying to sell you overpriced and incorrect supplies for your copy machine.

They are very good at making you believe they are the company that you either purchased or get your copier service with. They use terms like “your prices are going up soon and you need to order now”.

Solicited supplies can be very high priced. Even worse, if their supplies are not the right ones for your copier it may not work in your copier. Which can lead to additional problems and expenses.  So please contact us if you ever have suspicions before you order anything.

With a majority of copiers being multifunction machines (MFP`s), they are connected to your local network now. This can lead to multiple issues when trying to print or scan. If you are having problems with these functions, we can help you with that also.

You can easily check to see if there are network, driver and computer issues. First by checking with other users and other network functions to make sure all is good. If not, you may need to call your network administrator and not your copier repair company.

Below are some repair tips of common problems that we see. Take a look and see if it is something that you could handle on your own, this just might save you a service call.

Large Format Printer Repair Tips:

These Printers can be very reliable. However, when things are not working right; here are a couple of things a user can try first, before you call for repair.

Most Print quality problems are related to low ink cartridges and printhead problems. One of the first things to do is to do is a calibration. You can do this through the menu setting on most printers. This adjustment may either help solve your problem all together, or give information that may point you (and us) in the right direction to help you solve it. Maybe your ink cartridge is low, or you may need a new color print head need to be replaced?

If you scanner is not moving, then more than likely your scanner belt is bad. Sometimes, if this is the case, your machine will give you an error code. If so, let us know what that error code is and also your make and model number (Ex: HP Designjet 500 or T1300).

Laser Printer Repair Tips:

If you come across light prints, streaks or poor print quality, these problems usually can be resolved by just replacing the Toner/Ink Cartridge. This is true for most color and black & white printers as well.

Color printers are basically the same as black & white printers. The main difference is that you have four(4) different color toner cartridges in them, instead of one(1). So, if you have poor print quality or see color bands on the page (ex: blue in color); then, more than likely, the problem is related to that (blue/cyan) cartridge.

Furthermore, the printer may have a separate color drum cartridge, that may need to be replaced. Although, in a lot of machines, the toner cartridge is a drum and toner cartridge.
